The Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Sarangani and the Local Government Unit of Glan, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Victor James “Tata” B. Yap, Sr. this Monday, May 4, 2026.
During the visit, the SPES beneficiaries were formally welcomed as they begin their temporary employment under the program. A total of forty (40) student beneficiaries have been deployed to various offices within the LGU of Glan starting today, May 4, 2026, and will render service until May 29, 2026.
The SPES program aims to provide short-term employment opportunities to deserving students, enabling them to earn while gaining valuable work experience in public service. It also seeks to help ease the financial burden of education among the youth while fostering discipline, responsibility, and a deeper sense of community involvement.
Through this initiative, the LGU of Glan reaffirms its commitment to empowering the youth by supporting programs that promote skills development, work ethics, and active participation in nation-building.
