๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐ | Rogelio D. Pacquiao led a provincial assessment mission on June 11 in Glan, one of the hardest-hit municipalities following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Southern Mindanao on June 8.
Joining the governor were Board Members Gwynn Singcoy and Arman Guili, Vice Governor Danny Martinez, and some Capitol heads.
Aside from conducting the on-ground assessment, the provincial team also brought seven truckloads of relief goods intended for families affected by the disaster. The convoy traversed earthquake-damaged roads en route to Glan, where access has since become passable, although authorities continue to advise caution due to damaged and unstable sections along the route.
Governor Pacquiao personally inspected key portions of the affected road network to evaluate accessibility and identify areas needing urgent rehabilitation. The mission aimed to determine immediate infrastructure needs while ensuring that assistance is swiftly delivered to affected communities.
Upon arrival, the governor met with Mayor Victor James โTataโ Yap, Sr., to assess the extent of damage, coordinate ongoing response efforts, and identify barangays that have yet to be reached by first responders. Discussions also focused on additional support that the provincial government can provide for both relief and early recovery operations.
The assessment forms part of the continuing provincial response to ensure that aid reaches affected residents and that critical infrastructure is restored at the soonest possible time.
